BLUESHIELD EVERDURE 656 GTAW ERCuSi-A Silicon Bronze Rod (10lb Container) - 1/16
Sold per lb
Features:
The EVERDUR 656 electrode wire is a copper-based alloy containing approximately 3% silicon and possibly small amounts of manganese, tin, and/or zinc. It is used for TIG and GMAW welding of copper-silicon and copper-zinc alloys and for welding steel on itself or on these alloys. Silicon bronze is particularly suitable for welding galvanized steels (coated with zinc) because it does not destroy the zinc coating near the weld, thus preserving its protection against corrosion, while the bronze weld deposit itself is very resistant to corrosion. The silicon bronze is short hot and extreme care must be exercised to avoid overheating of the seal which tends to cause cracks. Preheat slightly to remove moisture. Interpass temperature should not exceed 150°F (66°C).
Comes in 10lb sleeves.
